REVOLUTIONIZING WAGERING

REVOLUTIONIZING WAGERING

RELATIVE FINANCE

A battle between multiple assets

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Relative is a decentralized derivatives platform that provides market participants with exposure to the ‘relative strength' between two assets through the creation of Relative Strength Derivatives. Relative offers a unique suite of products that allow users to speculate on the relative price action of any two assets, simply by backing their favored asset to outperform another within a given time frame.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

The problem statement would be to Optimize the create lot flow so that users don’t create duplicate lots.

BUT WHAT'S THE ISSUE WITH DUPLICATE LOTS?

Creating duplicate lots leads to discoverability issues for the existing lots. Example: If 10 lots for Ethereum Vs Bitcoin already exists without any funds, then it's pointless to create any more lots until the previous ones are completely filled.

CURRENT LIMITATIONS

  • Visitors are uncertain if an asset lot already exists or not.

  • The UX copy could be slightly more user-friendly.

  • Users lack the capability to narrow down existing lots.

DESIGN GOALS

  • Display when there's a high number of existing lots for a specific asset and encourage users to participate.

  • Enhance the copywriting slightly.

  • Permit users to narrow down pre-existing lots.

OBSERVING THE CURRENT UI

Issue: The current UI prompts the user to come and create a lot, without taking into consideration that there can be multiple lots of their desired asset already looking for deposits.

LEARNINGS FROM THE INTERVIEWS

  • Creating lots was indeed fast, however one step of showing existing lots was missing.

  • Easy copywriting is needed to remove confusion.

  • Lot's could be recommended based on users wagering history as people tend to have favorite assets.

ITERATION ONE

ITERATION ONE

FEW DRAWBACKS

  • In the second screen when the user selects an asset, it just shows the number of available lots but doesn’t prompts the user to enter one.

  • The current “Available Lots” section might not be optimal for the case when there are a lot of available lots.

  • Making it scrollable might further confuse the user as the heading says “Choose your Asset” with an active primary button saying “Next”.

ITERATIOIN TWO

Considering all the drawbacks mentioned in the previous solution, we can work on optimizing it and creating our next optimized iteration. The new flow would look something like this.

EXPLANATION

Ending note

Thank you for reading it till the end. This was just one of the many problems that I solved. There might be a more optimized solution other than the ones that I highlighted here. I am open to feedbacks, if you have a better solution.
